Joint Police Operation Uncovers Large-Scale Cannabis Workshop

A joint operation by the Guàrdia Urbana and the Mossos d'Esquadra has led to the dismantling of an illegal cannabis processing workshop in the Dreta de l'Eixample area of Barcelona. On 9 October, officers discovered 63.7kg of drugs inside the premises, including 30kg of marijuana, 28kg of hashish, 4kg of cannabis oil, and 1.7kg of isolated CBD. The investigation began the previous day, 8 October, when a Guàrdia Urbana patrol observed a suspected drug transaction at the entrance to the building. Officers reported a strong smell of marijuana upon approaching the site.

According to the police, everything indicates that the final destination was various cannabis associations in Barcelona.

Four Arrested on Public Health Charges

With judicial authorisation, police entered the premises on 9 October and found four individuals actively processing and preparing drugs. They were arrested and face charges related to crimes against public health. The operation was carried out by the Eixample Territorial Unit and the Guàrdia Urbana Investigation Unit, supported by the Mossos d'Esquadra's Regional Public Health Investigation Unit. Authorities believe the facility was used to manufacture and distribute cannabis products to multiple cannabis associations across the city.
