Two men in an apparent state of drunkenness assaulted and kicked a homeless man outside the Caracas Way nightclub in Barcelona’s Sants-Montjuïc district, according to witness accounts and video footage obtained by Metrópoli Abierta.
The incident occurred several weeks ago at the exit of the club, located on Carrer Creu Coberta, near Plaça d'Espanya. Footage shows the victim, dressed in summer clothing and carrying a bag, exchanging words with two men near a bus stop while bystanders look on.
One of the men, identified in the footage by his companions as Luís, became agitated and shouted, "What's up? Are we going to kill each other or what?" The second man, holding an almost empty alcohol bottle, attempted to calm him but failed.
Without warning, one of the men struck the homeless man in the face with a slap that knocked him to the ground. While the victim lay nearly unconscious, both men kicked his head twice, leaving him with a fractured cheekbone and extensive facial bruising, witnesses reported.
Despite the prolonged attack, no one intervened during the assault. Around 10 minutes later, several people approached the man to help him. He eventually stood up and left the scene unaided. Emergency services and police were not contacted by any witnesses at the time.
