Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona, the public operator of the city’s bus and Metro network, has opened applications for 450 jobs to strengthen staffing for summer 2027. The intake includes 250 bus driver posts and 200 Metro customer service agent posts, a role that also includes train-driving duties, according to TMB.
For jobseekers, the immediate deadline is Tuesday 8 July. Applications must be made through TMB’s job offers portal.
TMB said 100 of the 250 bus driver posts, or 40%, are reserved for women, continuing a recruitment policy aimed at increasing female representation in a sector that has historically been male-dominated.
New intake follows recent additions to bus and Metro staff
The new recruitment round comes after TMB added staff to both networks in recent days. In its announcement, the company said 229 new professionals, including 53 women, joined its bus driver pool last week.
TMB also said it added 129 new customer service agents to the Metro workforce this week for summer service. More than half of those recruits are under 30, and women account for 51.2% of the intake.
That matters for regular passengers as well as applicants. TMB has already increased bus capacity on some summer routes serving Barcelona’s beaches this year, reflecting the extra demand the network faces during the holiday season.
