Barcelona bus users are served by 104 lines and 2,635 stops, according to transport figures published by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB). The operator lists 1,151 buses and 221.8 kilometres of bus lanes across its network.
The figures give residents and commuters a snapshot of the scale of the two TMB-operated systems. TMB reports annual demand of 223.19 million bus journeys and 479.91 million metro journeys.
TMB’s published network figures
- Bus: 104 lines, 2,635 stops, 1,151 buses and 223.19 million journeys.
- Metro: eight lines, 165 stations, 125.4 kilometres of network and 479.91 million journeys.
- Bus lanes: 221.8 kilometres, with an average all-day bus speed of 11.4 km/h.
TMB says its transport figures are published annually and cover demand, fleet size, lines, stops and staffing. The page identifies the data as at 1 January 2025 and links to its Basic Data 2026 document.
Rail map already updated for TRAM and Rodalies
The Autoritat del Transport Metropolità (ATM), the body that coordinates fares and transport planning across the Barcelona area, redesigned the region’s rail-network map in 2024. It said the new map had already been introduced on Rodalies commuter rail and TRAM services, with updates planned for TMB and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC).
ATM said the redesign was intended to accommodate planned additions to the network, including the future connection of the two sections of Metro lines L9 and L10, extensions to L1, L3 and L8, and the proposed tram connection along Avinguda Diagonal. Future stations will not appear on the map until they are operating.
