The most common planning mistake at Primavera Sound is assuming Barcelona's metro runs all night. It does, but only on one of the nights you will need it.

Music at Parc del Fòrum runs well past 3am, and on the biggest nights closer to 6am. The metro's closing time changes depending on the day of the week, which means your route home is a different problem on Thursday than it is on Saturday. Here is how the week actually works, and what to do on the nights the metro has already shut.

What time the metro really stops

Parc del Fòrum is served by metro line L4 at El Maresme | Fòrum, exit Rambla de Prim. TMB's standard service hours are the thing to plan around.

  • Monday to Thursday: 05:00 until midnight.
  • Friday and the eves of public holidays: 05:00 until 02:00.
  • Saturday: continuous service straight through the night into Sunday.
  • Sunday: until midnight.

Apply that to the 2027 main days, Thursday 3 to Saturday 5 June, and the shape is clear. On Thursday night the metro is gone by midnight, hours before the site empties. On Friday night it is gone by 2am. Only on Saturday night can you walk out whenever you like and still find a train.

Most generic festival guides tell you the Fòrum is on the metro and stop there. That is true and it is not the part that will catch you out at 4am on a Thursday.

The official shuttle, and why its timetable is the giveaway

The festival has run its own express shuttle to Plaça de Catalunya in recent editions, booked in advance through the Access Ticket app for around €3, running without stops.

Look at the hours it ran in 2025 and the logic is obvious: it exists to cover the gap the metro leaves.

  • Thursday: midnight to 5am, starting exactly when the metro stops.
  • Friday: 2am to 6am, again starting exactly when the metro stops.
  • Saturday: 3am to 6am, when the metro is running anyway, so this one is convenience rather than necessity.

A second shuttle ran from Avinguda del Litoral, by the main stages, to Plaça de Catalunya from Thursday to Saturday between 1am and 4am, with the main service leaving from Passeig de Taulat outside the venue.

Treat those times as the pattern, not as a 2027 promise. The festival confirms the shuttle, the price and the pick-up points closer to the event, and it sells out in the app. If you are relying on it for the Thursday, book it when it goes on sale rather than on the day.

Night buses

Parc del Fòrum is served by night bus routes N6 and N7, which run from 11pm to 6am. Barcelona's Nitbus network is built around Plaça de Catalunya, so most routes pass through it and you change there for wherever you are staying.

This is the fallback that does not need booking and does not sell out. It is slower than the express shuttle and it stops on the way, which matters more than it sounds at 5am.

Taxis

The nearest taxi ranks to the site are in front of the CCIB convention centre and the Hilton. Expect a queue when a headline set ends, because several thousand people have the same idea within the same ten minutes.

Both Uber and Free Now operate in Barcelona, but surge pricing at Fòrum chucking-out time is real, and drivers are not always willing to come out to the site when the roads around it are closed. Walking fifteen minutes inland towards Diagonal or Rambla de Prim before ordering usually gets you a car faster than standing in the crowd trying to be picked up.

The other direction: getting to a la Ciutat shows

The city shows are a separate transport problem. Venues such as Sala Apolo sit on Avinguda del Paral·lel, on the other side of the centre from the Fòrum, and those gigs finish at more ordinary hours. If you are going from a Ciutat show back out to Poblenou or the Fòrum area, the metro is usually still running, and that is the easy leg of the week.

What to decide before you fly

  • Thursday is the night that catches people out. Book the shuttle, or accept a night bus or a taxi queue.
  • Saturday is the free night. The metro runs through, so stay as late as you like.
  • Where you stay changes the maths. A bed on the L4 is worth paying for. Somewhere that needs two changes at 5am is not.
  • Load a travel card in advance. Queuing at a machine at El Maresme | Fòrum with several thousand other people is a poor way to end a night.
