Door Smashed and Home Invaded During Dispute

Shortly before 11:00 on Sunday morning, a violent dispute between neighbours at number 64 on Passeig de l’Exposició in Poble-sec escalated when a 44-year-old man damaged the entrance door of a neighbour’s home and entered without permission. The incident took place near Montjuïc mountain in Barcelona’s Sants-Montjuïc district. Witnesses reported the man’s aggressive behaviour and called emergency services on 112. The individual had previously been involved in confrontations with other residents in the building, according to accounts from those present.

Large Police Operation Leads to Arrest

In response, multiple patrols of the Mossos d’Esquadra arrived, including officers from Citizen Security and the Operational Resources Area (ARRO). More than ten officers, some wearing helmets and protective shields, entered the building to control the situation. The regional police managed to subdue the man and took him away in handcuffs. Images from the scene show officers escorting him into a police vehicle. He is provisionally accused of property damage and unlawful entry. An ambulance from the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) attended as a precaution but no injuries were reported.

The arrest generated notable expectation among residents, who recognised the man as he was removed.

This incident follows another serious neighbourhood conflict in Barcelona the previous day. On Saturday morning, a 22-year-old man allegedly stabbed a neighbour during an argument on Avinguda Meridiana in Sant Andreu. After the attack, the suspect barricaded himself in his home before ARRO units apprehended him. He is now in police custody. Both cases highlight the deployment of specialist Mossos units over a weekend marked by intense interventions in residential disputes across the city.
