On 17 September, Granollers will host the second edition of the EconomistesBAN Investor Forum, a key event connecting six startups from Vallès Oriental with private investors. The forum begins at 5:00 p.m. at the UEI Assembly Hall on Av. Europa, 21, and aims to accelerate early-stage innovation by linking entrepreneurial talent with capital and mentorship.

The event is organised by EconomistesBAN, the business angels network of the College of Economists of Catalonia, in collaboration with the Intersectoral Business Union (UEI) and LYNE Group. It forms part of a broader effort to decentralise investment opportunities across Catalonia, allowing founders outside Barcelona to access growth resources without relocating.

Six Startups to Pitch for Growth

Each of the six selected startups will present their business model, market potential, and funding needs to a panel of accredited investors. Following each pitch, a Q&A session will allow investors to assess scalability, team experience, and financial projections. Only around 10% of projects submitted to EconomistesBAN are chosen to present, following a rigorous screening process.

Our goal is for projects with potential to have access to the private capital and business knowledge they need to grow. Bringing this forum to Granollers strengthens the connection between local entrepreneurs and a network of investors capable of supporting them in their development.

Strengthening Catalonia’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

EconomistesBAN has supported over 70 startups since its inception, contributing to a combined annual turnover exceeding €88 million and generating more than 1,900 direct jobs. The network comprises over 400 private investors and analyses more than 600 projects annually through regional investment forums.

The wider Catalan startup ecosystem continues to expand. According to the Analysis of the Startup Ecosystem in Catalonia 2026 report published by ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment, the region now hosts 2,403 startups, a 5.2% increase from the previous year and the highest number on record. These companies collectively generate €2.947 billion in turnover and employ over 30,500 people, marking a 34% rise in employment.

The return of the forum underscores Granollers’ growing role in the regional innovation landscape. By hosting the event, UEI and LYNE Group reinforce their commitment to economic development in Vallès Oriental, fostering connections between established businesses, emerging founders, and institutional stakeholders.

Institutional representatives expected to attend include officials from the Granollers City Council, Vallès Oriental Regional Council, Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, and the College of Economists of Catalonia. The event will conclude with a networking session to facilitate new collaborations.
