On Monday 2nd November 2026, the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, instructed the regional government’s legal services to study all possible legal actions against digital platforms that host calls linked to Blocus, according to ara.cat.

Illa stated that companies must take responsibility for preventing the spread of content promoting illegal activities. He told ara.cat that platforms cannot be spaces of impunity for criminal incitement and must act to block such calls and identify those responsible.

Platforms Must Act, Says President

"These companies must assume responsibility. They cannot be spaces of irresponsibility where calls to commit crimes are allowed,", Salvador Illa, president of the Generalitat, told ara.cat

Illa made the remarks during an interview with Cadena SER, reiterating that online platforms have a duty under both Catalan and Spanish law to prevent illegal coordination on their networks.

No Evidence of Foreign Involvement

When asked about possible foreign interference in Blocus-related activity, Illa said he could neither confirm nor rule it out. While acknowledging past foreign interference in electoral processes, he stated there is currently no data linking such actors to the Blocus network.
