Judicial Remand Ordered for Suspects
The investigating court number 1 in Gavà has ordered provisional, communicated, and bail-free imprisonment for four men aged 18, 21, 43, and 51, following their arrest in connection with the kidnapping and firearm assault of a man in early September. The suspects appeared before the court on Friday 16 October 2026, as confirmed by the High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC).
Attack Began in Gavà, Victim Found in Sabadell
The incident occurred on Monday 7 September 2026, when the victim, a motorcyclist, was forcibly detained in the Ca n'Espinós urbanisation in Gavà, Baix Llobregat. He was reportedly shot, placed in the trunk of a vehicle, and transported across the region before being abandoned in Sabadell with serious injuries. Emergency services found him later the same day.
The investigation was led by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos d'Esquadra, regional police with jurisdiction in Catalonia.
Arrests Made in Tarragona
After a weeks-long investigation, officers from the Special Intervention Group (GEI) of the Mossos d'Esquadra carried out coordinated raids in the Torreforta neighbourhood of Tarragona on Thursday 15 October. The suspects, believed to have links to known clans in the Baix Llobregat area, had gone into hiding following the attack. Police sources indicate the operation was considered high-risk, requiring support from the ARRO (Regional Intervention and Support Unit) of the Camp de Tarragona. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities not ruling out further arrests.
Investigation Points to Drug-Related Feud
While official charges have not yet been disclosed, early reports suggest the assault may be linked to a dispute over drug trafficking. No public statements have been made by the suspects or their legal representatives. Residents in Gavà and surrounding areas are urged to report any suspicious activity to the nearest Mossos d'Esquadra station via their official portal at mossos.gencat.cat.
