Andreuenc Takes Top Spot for Second Year

L'Andreuenc, a restaurant in Sant Andreu, Barcelona, has won the Lliga del Porc i la Forquilla for the second consecutive year. Chef Juli Alcoriza triumphed on Sunday, 27 September 2026, at the final held during the Fira MOS-Sant Miquel in Lleida. His winning dish, "Sea and mountain of braised pork cheek with cod brandade and Santa Pau bean sauce", also received the newly introduced Special Popular Vote Award. Final Showcases Catalonia's Pork Traditions

The competition, now in its second edition, celebrates the "esmorzar de forquilla" (fork breakfast) as part of Catalonia's gastronomic heritage. It recognises restaurants preserving traditional pork-based breakfasts. Twelve participants, selected through regional semi-finals in Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona, competed in the final.

The Lliga is promoted by the Grup de Sanejament Porcí Lleida and managed by Como Pomona, with support from the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Jordi Mascort of Can Mascort in Quart, Girona, took second place with his "Pork snout casserole". Third place was shared by Isidre Codina of Bar Lídia in Lleida, whose dish featured smoked pig's trotters with ganxet beans and ear chips, and Florin Breghe of Fonda Montserrat in Cambrils, who presented a "Sea and mountain of pig's trotters with mantis shrimp".

Reviving Traditional Catalan Breakfast Culture

The event highlights lesser-used pork cuts such as ears, snouts and trotters, promoting sustainability and culinary heritage. The final took place at the Camps Elisis in Lleida as part of the annual agricultural fair.
