Around 40 young people aged 18 to 29 met about 10 employers at a municipal employment event in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat on Monday, 14 September, in an effort to secure a first job after vocational training.
Participants at the Digital Transformation Centre each had five minutes to introduce themselves to company representatives and hand over a CV before moving to the next table. The session focused on people trained through Ajuntament de L'Hospitalet programmes in hospitality, air-conditioning, plumbing and electrical work.
For young residents seeking their first paid role, the event offered direct contact with firms that say they are struggling to fill skilled vacancies.
Five-minute interviews for trained candidates
Laura García, deputy mayor of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, said the council designed the session to help young people take their first step into employment while continuing their education or training.

García said employers had reported difficulty finding young people with training and interest in these occupations. She also said the council encourages participants to treat employment as part of a longer training route towards better-quality work.
