Regional police, the Mossos d'Esquadra, are investigating two connected firearm incidents in El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona, after more than 30 shots were fired across two locations late on 10 August 2026. No injuries have been reported.
The first incident occurred shortly before 9:00 PM in Plaza de la Amistat during a fight between several people, according to El Caso and confirmed by police sources to EFE. A resident called emergency services at 112, reporting the brawl, gunshots, and that one of the individuals had entered a nearby building.
Mossos patrols searched the residence where the suspect was believed to be hiding but found no one. No shell casings were recovered at this scene, though officers seized a switchblade and two knives.
Following the disturbance, preventive patrols were deployed in the area. At 11:42 PM, emergency services received another call about a fight on Riu Túria street, again involving the same individuals and accompanied by gunfire.
At the second scene, officers found 32 spent shell casings and five cartridges on the public road. The Mossos Investigation Unit has taken charge of the case, collecting photographic and ballistic evidence from both locations.
No arrests made as probe continues
As of 11 August 2026, no arrests have been made. The investigation aims to determine the full sequence of events and whether the incidents are part of broader criminal activity in the area.
The Mossos are treating both incidents as linked and are prioritising public safety while evidence is processed.
Residents in the vicinity are advised to report any suspicious activity to local authorities via the official emergency number 112 or through the Mossos d'Esquadra website.
