Widespread Catalan release supported by regional institutions
The fourth instalment of the Tadeo Jones animated film series, titled 'Tadeu Jones 4: La llàntia meravellosa' in Catalan, premieres in 38 cinemas across Catalonia this Wednesday, 26 August. The Conselleria de Cultura of the Generalitat announced the release in a statement on Tuesday, confirming the Catalan-language version will be available in multiplexes across the region. Production of the film received support from the Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC), while the Catalan dubbing was backed by the Conselleria de Política Lingüística. According to the government, this year the department has supported dubbing or subtitling for 50 feature films to promote linguistic accessibility.
The Catalan version of the film opens in 11 specific locations including Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona, and inland towns such as Manresa, Olot, and Vic.
Family adventure spans time and continents
The film follows archaeologist Tadeo and his partner Sara, now parents to two-year-old Olimpia. During a family trip to London, Sara discovers Aladdin’s magic lamp. The Mummy, feeling sidelined, secretly wishes to return to Peru in 1502, when she was young and admired. Tadeo and Sara must follow her into the past to prevent changes to history, leading to an adventure from ancient Peru to the cave of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.
