In Barcelona and the surrounding area, power was restored by 4.55am on Tuesday after an overnight fault near the Collblanc electrical substation in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, according to Endesa and Protecció Civil, the Catalan civil protection service.

The outage began at 10pm on Monday and affected 11,586 customers in and around Collblanc. Endesa said supply had been normalised for all affected users before dawn, which is the key point for residents, night workers and businesses in L'Hospitalet.

Protecció Civil said in a post on X that the number of affected subscribers had been falling progressively during the night. The utility said the incident was caused by a fault in a cable near the Collblanc substation.

If you are still seeing problems after the restoration time, you can check the official outage page from e-distribución, Endesa's distribution operator. For official service notices, the Generalitat also publishes updates through its service alerts page and Protecció Civil.

The incident started near the substation in Collblanc, a neighbourhood of L'Hospitalet on the western edge of Barcelona. L'Hospitalet City Council also reported that the supply cut affected Collblanc. Neither Protecció Civil nor the utility reported injuries or a wider transport incident linked to the outage.
