Indra Group has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Bold Technology, a company based in Montmeló, Barcelona, to strengthen its industrial and technological activity in Catalonia. For Catalan technology firms and suppliers, Indra says the approach is intended to identify local capabilities more quickly and connect them with the company’s strategic programmes.

The agreement was announced on 27 July by Enric Blasco, Indra’s regional director for Catalonia, who took up the post in June. Indra described it as the first strategic alliance promoted by its newly created territorial delegation in Catalonia.

“Our aim is for Indra Group to be a driving force for Catalan industry,” Blasco said. “We want to identify the territory’s best technological capabilities quickly, connect them with the company’s major strategic programmes and generate new growth opportunities for the whole industrial ecosystem.”

Partnership centres on energy-storage technology

Bold Technology specialises in advanced energy-storage systems, high-performance batteries, battery-management systems and artificial intelligence-based energy-management solutions.

Indra said the partnership will explore specific initiatives aimed at strengthening Catalonia’s technological and industrial capabilities. The company has also said its local model will involve closer work with public institutions, businesses and innovation centres in the region.

Indra reports higher procurement from Catalan suppliers

Indra said the volume of contracts awarded to Catalan suppliers rose by 57% in the first half of 2026. According to the company, that six-month total had already reached the amount budgeted for the whole of the previous year.

The company’s existing Catalonia plan sets out an aim to create 1,500 jobs across Barcelona, Tarragona, Girona and Lleida by 2027.
