Catalan Government Unveils Diada 2026 Poster Without Senyera

The Generalitat de Catalunya has released its official poster for the 2026 Diada Nacional de Catalunya without featuring the senyera as a central symbol. Instead, the design by graphic artist Javier Jaén uses a mosaic of red fingerprint impressions on a yellow background, aligning with the slogan "El Govern de tothom" (The Government of Everyone). The senyera is subtly embedded in the typography, represented by the four dots above the letter ‘i’ in the word ‘diada’.

While the visual language evolves, the government continues to frame the Diada around themes of inclusivity and unity. In 2025, officials stated the campaign aimed to "transmit the diversity of Catalonia as an equal, inclusive and culturally rich country," according to a press release from the territorial delegation of the government in Tarragona.

The 2026 poster has been published without an accompanying institutional announcement on govern.cat, leading some observers to note the lack of formal communication around its launch.
