Barcelona City Council has launched a €10 million tender, including VAT, for the conservation and restoration of monuments, buildings and sculptural ensembles over the next four years.
The contract gives prospective suppliers until 13 September to apply. It could affect residents and visitors through repair work at several public heritage sites, including Park Güell, the Roman Temple of Augustus and the Venetian Towers.
Four lots cover parks, monuments and municipal buildings
According to details published on 26 August, the contract is divided into four lots. The named allocations are:
- €309,917 for Park Güell, including repairs to trencadís mosaic work, a stone-viaduct railing and paving.
- €942,148 for monuments and sculptural ensembles, including the monuments to General Moragues at Pla de Palau, Josep Tarradellas and Prat de la Riba, as well as some Olympic fountains.
- €628,099 for municipal buildings, including the Palauet Albéniz, the Roman Temple of Augustus, the Venetian Towers, and Barcelona City Council's Saló de Cent and Cròniques Hall.
- €309,917 for Pedralbes Monastery, for work including cloister ceilings and church stained-glass windows during its 700th anniversary year.
The tender covers conservation work across Barcelona's urban heritage. The published contract details do not identify Santa Maria de Valldonzella monastery in Collserola among the listed works or allocations.
Companies seeking the contract must submit their applications by 13 September.
