Discount Vouchers Available from 26 October

The Ajuntament de Badalona has launched the autumn edition of its 'Badabons' campaign, offering residents a 40% discount on purchases at participating local businesses. From Monday 26th October at 10:00, citizens aged 18 and over can buy digital consumption vouchers via the official portal badabons.cat. Each voucher covers 40% of the purchase price, with the buyer paying 60%. Vouchers range from €10 to €100 in multiples of €10, meaning a maximum spend of €100 costs the user just €60. The city council is contributing €400,000 to the scheme, which could stimulate up to €1.2 million in local spending.

How to Use the Badabons

Once purchased, vouchers are loaded onto a virtual card accessible through the user’s account on badabons.cat. To make a purchase, residents must present both the QR code from their virtual card and a valid DNI at the point of sale. The discounts apply to retail shops under 300 square metres, restaurants, municipal markets, service providers, and licensed non-permanent market traders. A full list of participating establishments will be published on the website before the launch.

This campaign aims to support local commerce while giving residents real savings in their daily lives.

Businesses Can Register Now

Shops and restaurants wishing to join the scheme can register from today, Monday 19th October, on badabons.cat. To qualify, businesses must be up to date with their tax obligations to the council and fall within the eligible categories, including permanent and non-permanent market stallholders. Registration remains open until the campaign ends on Sunday 22nd November. The previous spring edition ran from 27 April to 24 May, and the success of that round prompted the council to run a second campaign in 2026.
