Barcelona Guardia Urbana officers discovered approximately 750 stolen ham legs in a truck stopped on the Ronda Litoral following a reported incident on the evening of Wednesday 7 October at around 8:15 PM.

The Central Traffic Unit (UCT) of the municipal police observed what appeared to be a collision between a truck and a car near exit 30 of the B-10 in the Sant Andreu district, heading towards Llobregat. Four people were initially seen outside the vehicles, but when officers returned to assist, only the locked truck remained, marked with a V-16 warning beacon indicating a breakdown.

About 100 metres away, officers located a man who claimed he was watching the vehicle while others sought a tow truck. The Guardia Urbana contacted the truck’s owner, who arrived at the scene with spare keys. Upon opening the cargo compartment, they found the hams stacked inside.

The truck owner stated he had rented the vehicle to another individual and was unaware of its contents. The three men present at the scene could not prove the origin of the goods and were detained on suspicion of misappropriation.

The investigation, led by the Central Traffic Unit, confirmed the truck and its cargo had been stolen from a company. The owner of the hams has been contacted and verified the theft.

Investigation Ongoing into Theft Network

Authorities are now working to establish whether additional individuals were involved and whether the robbery was part of a planned operation or exploited an oversight. Both the truck and the hams have been impounded as part of the investigation.
