New Works on Carrer Barcelona Aim to End Flooding
Separate major works on Carrer Barcelona, between the C-32 motorway and Passeig del Pitort, began in June 2026 and are expected to last seven months. The project, approved on 13 February 2026 by engineering firm SBS Simón i Blanco S.L., aims to eliminate chronic flooding in the area by installing a new stormwater drainage network and pumping station. Additional improvements include full renewal of the road and pavement, installation of energy-efficient LED street lighting, undergrounding of power and telecom lines, and the creation of around 100 new free parking spaces, including a designated row on the Gavà municipal boundary side.
