The change provides a direct link between central Barcelona, particularly Eixample and Glòries, and the university district, eliminating the need for transfers. The extension coincides with European Mobility Week 2026 and the start of the academic year, aiming to improve east-west connectivity and intermodality with metro, tram, and regional bus services from Baix Llobregat. --- ## Free Public Tours of Hidden Transport Sites As part of European Mobility Week, TMB is opening rarely accessible infrastructure to the public. From Saturday 19 to Sunday 20 September, free guided tours will be available at three key sites: - The unused Gaudí metro station, a so-called "ghost station" never opened to the public - The historic Santa Eulàlia metro workshops, operational since 1922 - The ZAL logistics and maintenance workshops in Zona Franca Each tour requires advance registration. Visits to the Gaudí station last 20 minutes and run in nine 30-minute slots from 09:30 to 13:30 each day, with 20 people per session. ### Vintage Bus Exhibition on Passeig de Gràcia TMB will also host a public exhibition of classic and next-generation buses on Passeig de Gràcia.
