The incident occurred on 28th January in the Horta-Guinardó district, when the suspect followed the victim into her building and used what police describe as the 'mimosa method', a tactic targeting elderly people through distraction and physical contact. After entering the building behind the victim, the suspect initiated a conversation by asking for the community president's mailbox. She then grabbed the woman's arm and, following a struggle, ripped the watch from her wrist. --- ## Identification and Arrest Police identified the suspect through an investigation that led to the circulation of her image among Mossos d'Esquadra units. The Badalona Investigation Unit located and arrested her at approximately 4:30 PM on Tuesday 3rd November. At the time of her arrest, she was subject to an outstanding arrest warrant. The stolen Cartier watch has not yet been recovered, according to available information. > The suspect has a criminal record of around 70 arrests in Spain and is known to follow a consistent modus operandi when targeting elderly victims. She was brought before a judicial authority and ordered into provisional custody, reflecting the seriousness of the offence and her history of repeat offending. --- ## Advice for Residents Residents, particularly older adults, are advised to remain vigilant in communal areas such as building entrances.
