Patients surveyed in 2026 gave the hospital an overall satisfaction score of 8.4 out of 10, surpassing both the 2024 result and the regional average. This makes Vall d'Hebron the top-scoring hospital in the city for ambulatory care, with patients particularly satisfied with communication, professional treatment, and facility cleanliness. --- ## High Scores Across Key Indicators The CatSalut Satisfaction Survey Plan (PLAENSA©), which has assessed healthcare quality since 2001, evaluates outpatient experiences across multiple domains. In 2026, 86.4% of respondents said they would return to Vall d'Hebron if given a choice, a loyalty rate that matches the Catalan average and improves on the 2024 figure by nearly two percentage points. Information and communication received especially strong feedback. A total of 93.6% of patients rated explanations about their illness and treatment positively, seven points higher than in 2024 and two above the Catalan average. Understanding specialist advice scored even higher, at 95.5% positive responses. > "The results reflect our ongoing commitment to patient-centred care and continuous quality improvement," said a hospital spokesperson. Respect for privacy during consultations was rated positively by 99.3% of respondents, a three-point improvement from 2024 and two points above the regional average. Ratings for treatment by medical, nursing, and administrative staff ranged between 93% and 96%, all showing notable improvements. --- ## Facilities and Coordination Praised Cleanliness at the hospital received 98% positive responses, seven points higher than in 2024 and 1.5 points above the Catalan average. While waiting room comfort and crowding remain areas for improvement, patient feedback on physical facilities continues to rise. Coordination between specialists was positively rated by 86.6% of respondents, a new metric not previously included in the survey. Coordination between family doctors and hospital specialists also improved, now standing at 74.9% positive ratings, more than five points higher than in 2024\. The PLAENSA© survey, first launched under a 2002 Catalan Health Service resolution to assess insured users’ satisfaction across primary, hospital, and mental health care lines, remains a key tool for shaping healthcare policy.
