# Two Teenagers Stabbed in Carmel Attack

## Attack in Carmel

Two teenagers have been wounded in a knife attack on Sigüenza Street in the Carmel neighbourhood of Barcelona. According to Metrópoli Abierta and confirmed by police sources to betevé, the Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia’s regional police, received a report at 1:45 AM on Sunday 13 September 2026 about a minor injured in the area. A second person was also stabbed nearby. Both victims were transported by Barcelona’s Medical Emergency Service (SEM) to a hospital. Their lives are not in danger.

## Police Investigation Underway

Mossos d'Esquadra have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the attack, assess whether the two stabbings are linked, and identify and arrest those responsible. No arrests have been reported in connection with the incident as of 13:30 local time. This is the second stabbing in Barcelona within hours. On Saturday evening, 12 September, a man was stabbed during a mass brawl involving around 10 people on Carrer de la Llacuna in the Sant Martí district at approximately 9:15 PM. In that incident, police detained the alleged attacker and a second individual on suspicion of making threats.

The back-to-back attacks come amid growing concern over youth-related violence in certain parts of the city. According to reports from recent months, including incidents on Via Favència and at Somorrostro beach, stabbings have occurred with increasing frequency, including one fatal case on 21 July 2026.
