The incidents are among several bottlenecks affecting major routes out of the city. ## AP-7 Sees Lane Closures and Long Queues An accident between Cerdanyola del Vallès and Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, heading towards Tarragona, led to one lane being closed and resulted in eight kilometres of congestion by 6:30 PM, according to the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT). Another incident further south, between Cambrils and Vila-seca in the Tarragonès region, required the removal of a vehicle and caused the closure of one lane, creating 8.5km of tailbacks heading towards Castelló de la Plana. Additional delays were reported on the same motorway: seven kilometres of congestion built up between Barberà del Vallès and Sant Cugat del Vallès heading north towards Girona, and six kilometres occurred between Granollers and Parets del Vallès. Heading towards Tarragona, six kilometres of traffic jams were recorded between Castellví de Rosanes and Castellbisbal. --- ## Widespread Disruption Across Barcelona's Ring Roads Other major roads around Barcelona are also heavily affected. On the B-20, 11.5km of congestion was recorded heading towards the Llobregat junction, with a further nine kilometres in the direction of the Trinitat junction. The B-10 saw eight kilometres of tailbacks between Barcelona and Sant Adrià de Besòs towards Llobregat, and four kilometres towards Trinitat, plus another three kilometres between Santa Coloma de Gramenet and Sant Adrià. On the B-23, two kilometres of traffic jams occurred between Barcelona and Esplugues de Llobregat heading into the city. The A-2 registered five kilometres of congestion near Jorba towards Lleida and two kilometres in Abrera, also heading west. The C-32 had five kilometres of delays between Gavà and Sant Boi towards Tarragona, and three kilometres between Premià de Dalt and Teià towards Blanes. > The device begins Friday, 9 October at 12pm and ends Monday, 12 October at midnight. ## Holiday Travel Surge Triggers Special Traffic Measures The Catalan Traffic Service (SCT), working with the Traffic Division of the Mossos d'Esquadra, has deployed a special mobility operation for the long weekend around the 12 October public holiday. The initiative began at 12:00 PM on Friday and is scheduled to run until midnight on Monday, 12 October. Authorities expect approximately 570,000 vehicles to leave the Barcelona metropolitan area between Friday and Saturday, with a concentrated return of 270,000 vehicles on Monday afternoon. The busiest periods are forecast between 14:00 and 20:00 on Friday, 10:00 to 14:00 on Saturday, and 16:30 to 20:30 on Monday. Drivers are urged to check road conditions before setting off, especially given recent rainfall affecting road surfaces.
