According to investigative outlet Newtral, around 20 TikTok profiles have emerged in recent days promoting a movement known as "Blocus", which encourages young people to participate in vandalism, looting of large retail stores, and confrontations with police. These TikTok accounts, many created between 18th and 19th October 2026, direct users to private WhatsApp and Telegram groups for coordination. In these closed channels, participants are instructed to wear black clothing, cover their faces, and bring materials such as flares, spray paint, and fire extinguishers. One Barcelona-based WhatsApp group had nearly 900 members before being shut down following investigation. --- ## Police and Platforms Respond The Spanish Ministry of the Interior is actively monitoring online calls to disrupt public order, particularly around planned gatherings in central Madrid near Gran Vía and Puerta del Sol on the afternoon of 24th October. Newtral's analysis, supported by researcher Marcelino Madrigal, found some TikTok profiles published up to 59 videos in 48 hours, indicating coordinated amplification. TikTok has responded by displaying a warning when users search for "Blocus", stating that information related to the term "may not be verified". The platform is under increased scrutiny following similar events in France, where authorities held emergency meetings with social media companies to curb riot organisation online. > The most curious thing is that from these TikTok groups they are already being redirected to closed Telegram and WhatsApp groups, where there is greater coordination and they are given a series of instructions, such as attending covered and dressed in black. , Guillermo Infantes, Newtral journalist ### Targeted Messaging and Tactics Messaging in the Madrid-focused group explicitly urges participants to vandalise large commercial outlets while sparing small businesses. Recruitment efforts appear focused on secondary school-aged individuals, mirroring the youth-led nature of recent protests in France. Newtral identified two primary WhatsApp groups, one for Barcelona and one for Madrid, each with approximately 700 members. Access is granted through TikTok invitations, creating a funnel from public content to encrypted organisation. While no large-scale incidents have been confirmed by late evening on 24th October, law enforcement agencies remain on alert. The Generalitat and local police forces, including the Mossos d'Esquadra in Catalonia, are coordinating with national authorities to prevent escalation. Residents in central districts of Barcelona and Madrid are advised to remain vigilant and report suspicious online content or group activity to official channels. --- *Sources:* [*La Sexta Barcelona*](https://www.lasexta.com/noticias/sociedad/blocus-grupos-jovenes-convocados-tiktok-disturbios-barcelona-que-buscan-replicar-francia%5F202610246adcfbba658beb674b267e0d.html?ref=barna.news)*,* [*newtral.es*](https://www.newtral.es/perfiles-tiktok-reclutan-jovenes-disturbios-madrid-barcelona-24-octubre-francia/20261023/?ref=barna.news)*.* --- ### Related on Barna.News - [Updated: Mossos Launch Plan Proa Against Youth Gangs](https://barna.news/mossos-launch-plan-proa-against-youth/) - [Police Raid in Gavà: 61 Identified, One Arrested](https://barna.news/police-raid-in-gava-61-identified-one/) - [Mossos Hunt Black Mercedes After La Mina Shooting](https://barna.news/mossos-hunt-black-mercedes-after-la/) - [Mossos Reinforce Officer Safety Amid Jihadist Alert](https://barna.news/mossos-reinforce-officer-safety-amid/)
