The incident occurred during ongoing renovation works at the station, which began this week as part of a €300,000 modernisation project to upgrade the lobby, improve accessibility, and enhance facility efficiency. Emergency services responded swiftly. Units from the Barcelona Fire Department, Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan regional police), Guàrdia Urbana (Barcelona city police), and five ambulances from the Servei d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) attended the scene.
