## Vehicle smashes into Keway Bags store

Shortly before 5:30am on Tuesday 6 October 2026, a gang of thieves used a car to break into the Keway Bags store at Carrer de Mallorca in Barcelona’s Eixample district. The vehicle crashed through the shutter, metal grate and shop window, causing extensive damage to the storefront. The suspects quickly ransacked display cases and drawers, stealing multiple high-end handbags. They fled the scene before the first Mossos d'Esquadra patrols arrived, according to police sources speaking to ElCaso.com.

## No arrests as investigation continues

The Mossos d'Esquadra have opened an investigation into theft with force. Officers cordoned off the entrance and conducted a visual inspection for evidence, while reviewing security camera footage from the store. Despite the overnight attack, the store reopened to the public later that morning. Staff confirmed to ElCaso.com that they had replaced the damaged shutter. As of Wednesday 7 October 2026 at 15:33 local time, no arrests have been made.

## Rising pattern of ram-raiding thefts

This incident follows a string of similar attacks in recent months:

- In early September, four men used a car to smash into the supermarket at Plaça de la Font in Llacuna, escaping with cash.
- Days later, five individuals stole four luxury cars from El Prat airport and used them to raid a store at Mataró Parc shopping centre.
- In July, thieves drove a stolen Jeep into an electronics store on Carrer de Muntaner, abandoning it before fleeing in another vehicle.

Since then, the Mossos have been tracking organised groups specialising in vehicle thefts used specifically for ram-raids, typically targeting retailers selling electronics, clothing or luxury goods.
