The incident occurred on Monday, 31 August at 8:35 PM on Avenida de Janeiro. According to Catalan police, the victim was a 17-year-old boy who has a recognised disability assessed at 68% under the Spanish grading system, in which 33% is the threshold for legal recognition. He was approached by a group of youths inside the complex. He was slapped before his mobile phone was stolen. The suspects fled the scene immediately. The victim's mother reported the attack to police, stating it was connected to urban gangs.
