# Teacher Arrested in Badalona Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

A teacher at Col·legi Badalonès in Badalona was arrested on Tuesday 15 September 2026 by the Mossos d'Esquadra, the regional police force, on suspicion of sexually harassing two minors through social media. The alleged victims, girls aged 15 and 16, reported that the teacher sent them messages on Instagram requesting sexually explicit photographs and inviting them to his home.

## Police Investigation Underway

The Mossos opened an investigation following formal complaints from the two teenagers. The incidents are believed to have occurred last year, but the first complaint was not filed until August 2026\. The suspect remains in custody pending a judicial appearance, as the investigation continues to determine the full circumstances and any potential criminal liability.

## School and Sports Club Respond

Col·legi Badalonès confirmed that the teacher did not conduct any classes on Tuesday and has been temporarily removed from his duties while the judicial process unfolds. In a statement, the school said it had no prior knowledge of the allegations, which only came to light late on Monday. It stressed that the accused teacher had worked at the school for years and was previously regarded as a respected and professional figure within the educational community.

The school reiterated its commitment to safeguarding and said it is cooperating fully with authorities.

The teacher also serves as a youth basketball coach at Club Joventut Badalona. The club has suspended him from his coaching role as it begins its own internal review of the case. The dual roles have heightened community concern, prompting both institutions to act swiftly to protect minors involved in their programmes.
