The incident occurred at number 69 Carrer dels Alts Forns, where witnesses reported a dispute between a man and a woman escalated into gunfire. According to resident Ana María, who saw part of the scene, the man ran to a blue vehicle, retrieved a pistol, and began shooting as he ascended a ramp in the direction of a nearby parking lot. > The man ran to the car to get a pistol and started going up shooting on the ramp, she said. After firing, the suspect fled on foot towards the La Viña neighbourhood. Two witnesses provided accounts of his escape route. Inma María Soler stated he was last seen near the Manolo workshop, while Juana Velero reported seeing him from behind at the intersection of Carrer de la Mare de Déu del Port and Carrer de la Foneria, accompanied by another man who warned him of someone’s presence. > He was carrying the pistol in his hand, then he put it on his back, took it out again, and then brought it to the front again. They fled in the direction of La Viña, Velero recounted. --- ## History of resident complaints The Balenciaga venue has been the focus of ongoing complaints from residents of Jardins de la Mediterrània, who have reported noise, late-night activity, and alleged unlicensed operations. On 10th February 2026, neighbours formally denounced the club for functioning as a nightclub despite being licensed as a music bar, and accused it of hosting sexually explicit shows and sharing demeaning content on social media. Residents argued their concerns were not about morality but legality and dignity, stating that women were being used as objects of consumption. Some filed complaints anonymously, citing fears of reprisals. They had previously contacted the district councilor and civility committee but said no effective action had been taken. ## Administrative ties and official status Despite the controversy, Balenciaga maintains formal ties with Barcelona institutions. A collaboration agreement between the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) and Balenciaga, a French luxury fashion house registered in Paris, was established for a photography session at the Design Museum – DHub. The agreement, signed under ICUB’s authority, confirms Balenciaga’s role in promoting design heritage through contemporary initiatives. The municipal Gaceta records no current enforcement actions against the venue. Residents now demand that the Ajuntament verify whether the club’s operations comply with its licensing conditions, particularly in light of the morning’s violence. ## Police investigation ongoing The Mossos d'Esquadra arrived at the scene and began collecting witness statements and identifying individuals present. The alleged shooter remains at large. Police have not confirmed whether the firearm was recovered or if arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing to reconstruct the suspect’s movements and determine possible accomplices. --- *Sources:* [*La Ciutat*](https://laciutat.cat/laciutatdebarcelona/nou-tiroteig-zona-franca-barcelona-ha-tret-pistola-cotxe-ha-comencat-disparar%5F904730%5F102.html?ref=barna.news)*,* [*w123.bcn.cat*](https://w123.bcn.cat/APPS/egaseta/cercaAvancada.do?publicacionsId=36176&reqCode=downloadFile&ref=barna.news)*.* --- ### Related on Barna.News - [Shooting Outside Santa Coloma Hospital](https://barna.news/shooting-outside-santa-coloma-hospital/) - [Man Accused of Intimidating Students Near American School](https://barna.news/man-accused-of-intimidating-students/) - [Man with Airsoft Pistol Threatens Woman in El Prat](https://barna.news/man-with-airsoft-pistol-threatens-woman/) - [Man Arrested on AP-7 After Scooter Chase](https://barna.news/man-arrested-on-ap-7-after-scooter-chase/)
