## Major Names and Local Productions at Festival

The 13th edition of Serielizados Fest, Barcelona’s International Series Festival, opens today Monday 19th October and runs until Wednesday 28th October at venues including the CCCB, Mooby Aribau, Phenomena Experience and Casa Cupra Raval. The festival features a curated selection of series premieres, creator talks, masterclasses and industry events. One of the headline guests is Scottish screenwriter Steven Moffat, known for creating the BBC series *Sherlock* (2010–2017) starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, and for his work as a writer and producer on *Doctor Who*. He will appear in conversation during the festival. Also attending is Sue Vertue, television producer of the UK’s iconic comedy *Mr. Bean*, who will participate in a session on international series production.

## Premieres and Tributes

The festival opens with the premiere of *In vitro*, a dramedy co-produced by 3Cat and HBO Max, created by Marc Crehuet and Alejandra Guimerà. Set in a Barcelona assisted reproduction clinic, the series explores ethical and emotional dilemmas around fertility, motherhood and modern family models. Stars Bruna Cusí, David Verdaguer, Diana Gómez and María Pujalte will attend the screening at Mooby Aribau on Monday 19th October at 8 PM. Another premiere is *Segunda temporada*, the new series by Miguel Ángel Blanca, creator of Filmin’s hit *Autodefensa*. It will be shown in competition. The festival also marks the 30th anniversary of the premiere of *Nissaga de poder*, the acclaimed 3Cat series by Josep Maria Benet i Jornet. A reunion event will bring together key cast and crew, including Emma Vilarasau, Jordi Bosch and screenwriter Lluís Arcarazo.

## Closing with a Catalan Classic

The festival closes on Wednesday 28th October at 9 PM at Sala Phenomena with the full screening of *Episòdic: El principi d’Arquimedes*. This six-part anthology series, each episode 15 minutes long, adapts the internationally performed play by Josep Maria Miró. Produced by betevé and the Barcelona City Council’s Department of Culture and Creative Industries, with Serielizados as creative and production team, it will premiere on betevé’s platforms at the end of 2026.
