# Sant Cugat Launches Support Product Bank for Disabled Residents

## Free Loan of Mobility and Care Equipment Now Available

The Sant Cugat del Vallès City Council has launched a Support Products Bank (BPS) to improve the autonomy and quality of life of people with dependency or mobility difficulties. The service, managed by the municipal Social Services department, offers temporary loans of essential equipment and specialist advice for daily living at home. Eligibility is open to all individuals registered and residing in Sant Cugat, regardless of whether they have an officially recognised disability or dependency status from the Generalitat de Catalunya.

## How to Access the Service

Access to the Support Products Bank requires a prior assessment by an occupational therapist. The therapist will evaluate the individual’s mobility needs, daily challenges and home environment. Based on this assessment, they will recommend suitable equipment and possible home adaptations. The initial inventory includes:

- Beds with lifting frames
- Pressure-relief mattresses
- Transfer and standing hoists
- Swivel bath seats
- Toilet raisers
- Wheeled shower chairs
- Adult and children’s wheelchairs

If a required item is not currently in stock, the council will consider adding it following technical evaluation.

> The bank also plans to accept donations of used support products from individuals and institutions, provided they are in safe and functional condition, to expand the available stock for future loans.
