Executive projects for phase two, covering the sections of Parlament Street between Viladomat and Calàbria, and Aldana Street between Comte Borrell and Ronda de Sant Pau, are now being drafted. These upcoming works will replace temporary urban planning measures with a long-term, greener public space design that prioritises pedestrians. The project will feature unified street platforms, eliminating curbs between pavements and roadways across approximately 13,500 square metres. --- ## €5.1M Investment, Tender in 2027 The city plans to launch the tender process during the second quarter of 2027, with construction expected to begin in 2028\. The project has an estimated budget of €5.1 million and is scheduled to last nine months, with consecutive work phases to minimise disruption. Designs will follow the same principles applied in the ongoing first phase, which began on 25 June 2026 and runs until June 2027\. That phase includes improvements along Comte Borrell (between Manso and Paral·lel) and Parlament (between Viladomat and Ronda de Sant Pau), as well as the creation of a new central square at the Borrell-Parlament intersection. - Increased tree cover for more shaded areas - Renewed irrigation and lighting systems - New recreational zones and urban furniture - Dedicated loading and unloading areas with adapted surfacing Large planters will be retained but limited to street corners and the new square, where sunlight and maintenance access support plant survival. --- ## Part of Wider Eixample Transformation The Sant Antoni upgrade forms part of broader improvements across this section of the Eixample district. Other developments include the renovation of Avinguda Roma, the future redesign of Parc Joan Miró, and the La Industrial+ project led by Diputació de Barcelona at Escola Industrial.
