The work, scheduled to last until mid-December, will take place Monday to Thursday nights between 11:00 PM and 5:30 AM. The closures are part of a 740,000 euro project managed by municipal company BIMSA to repair pavement deterioration and stop water infiltration at the junction between the Colom and Moll de la Fusta tunnels, located at kilometre 10.838\. Cement will be injected beneath the foundation slab over a 24-metre section in the direction of Llobregat and a 9-metre section towards Besòs. ### Diversion Routes in Place To minimise disruption, traffic will be diverted during closure hours. Vehicles travelling towards Besòs will exit at access point 21, using Passeig de Josep Carner, Passeig de Colom, and Carrer del Doctor Aiguader before rejoining the ring road at entrance 22\. In the opposite direction, towards Llobregat, drivers will exit at 22, following Carrer del Doctor Aiguader, Passeig d'Isabel II, Passeig de Colom, and Passeig de Josep Carner to re-enter at entrance 21. ### Long-Planned Repair at Olympic-Era Junction The Colom tunnel was built between 1989 and 1990, and the Moll de la Fusta tunnel in 1991, during Barcelona's Olympic transformation. Differences in construction typology and geometry, combined with maritime pressure, have led to persistent water stagnation and pavement degradation at the connection point. Barcelona City Council has long planned this intervention to resolve the structural issues. --- ### Ongoing and Future Ring Road Works This phase follows earlier maintenance in July, when 40,932 square metres of pavement were renewed on the Ronda Litoral and Ronda de Dalt, as confirmed by Barcelona City Council’s summer works programme. Separately, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has tendered 9.57 million euros for the rehabilitation of the Morrot viaduct near Montjuïc, a critical point for city traffic flow.
