# Rodalies R7 resumes service after near-year break

## R7 service restored after cable theft disruption

Rodalies de Catalunya has resumed regular service on the R7 line from 17 June, reconnecting Cerdanyola del Vallès and Cerdanyola Universitat stations after nearly a year of disruption. The line, which links Fabra i Puig and Cerdanyola Universitat, was suspended due to cable theft at Montcada Bifurcació station in May 2025\. The restoration follows successful commercial simulations to verify repaired security systems, according to the Generalitat’s rail operator. Full service on lines R3, R4, R7 and R12 has now been reinstated.

## University access restored via direct rail

Students and staff travelling to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) campus can now take the R7 directly to Cerdanyola Universitat station. From there, internal shuttle buses remain available to key points across the campus. Prior to the restoration, passengers had to transfer to an alternative road transport service between Cerdanyola del Vallès and the UAB, operating every 30 minutes on weekdays and hourly on weekends.
