For residents in Alpicat, Lleida, Sant Cugat del Vallès and Valls, police link the first group to eight forced-entry burglaries in their towns. The suspects, six men and two women aged 28 to 54, are accused of burglary with force, membership of a criminal group and document forgery. Investigators identified what they described as a shared pattern in several reported crimes, as well as vehicles allegedly used by the suspects and a Madrid property where they stayed temporarily. Also in August, the Guardia Civil arrested four people in Madrid and searched the property. Police said they recovered items stolen in recent burglaries attributed to that group. ## Second group identified after first operation Investigative work following the Madrid arrests led police to identify a second alleged group of four people. The Mossos arrested them in Sitges in connection with a forced-entry burglary at a property in Girona. Police said both groups travelled between parts of Spain and, in some cases, other European countries. They allegedly planned three- or four-day burglary campaigns, targeting developments of single-family homes when owners were likely to be away during the morning or afternoon. - Police said the groups could carry out up to four burglaries in one day. - Suspects allegedly climbed perimeter fences and forced windows or other vulnerable entry points. - Reportedly stolen items included jewellery, watches, handbags, mobile phones, perfumes and cash. Investigators said the men allegedly entered the properties, while the women remained in vehicles to watch the area, provide logistical support and drive. The suspects allegedly used gloves, caps and false identity documents to avoid identification.
