## Festival Cancelled Over Safety Concerns

The Petits Camaleons Festival, a major family music event in Sant Cugat del Vallès, has been suspended due to adverse weather conditions. All scheduled activities for the Festa Major de Monestir-Sant Francesc have also been cancelled. Heavy rain is already affecting the area, with Meteocat, Catalonia’s meteorological service, issuing a maximum-risk alert for precipitation. Organisers cited public safety as the primary reason for the suspension. In a statement, they said the decision was made "for reasons of mobility and safety" and that their priority is "to guarantee the safety of the public, the artists, and the entire team."

## Wider Impact Across Sant Cugat

The Ajuntament de Sant Cugat confirmed the cancellation of all municipal events planned for Saturday afternoon, advising residents to avoid unnecessary travel. The warning follows updated forecasts from the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya, which predict up to 150 litres of rain per square metre in some areas during peak storm hours. Petits Camaleons 2026 was set to mark the festival’s 15th anniversary with 70 concerts across seven stages, including performances by Els Pets, Miki Núñez, and Sidonie. The event, running from 1 to 4 October, typically draws around 10,000 attendees.

> Our priority is to guarantee the safety of the public, the artists, and the entire team.

Further updates will be shared via the official [Festival Petits Camaleons page](https://www.santcugat.cat/web/festival-petits-camaleons?ref=barna.news) on the Sant Cugat council website and through local media outlets.
