## Adrià Argemí wins top honour at AIJEC gala

Adrià Argemí, co-founder and CEO of aerospace firm Pangea Propulsion, has been awarded the XXXIII Premi Jove Empresari, recognising him as Catalonia's top young entrepreneur. The award was presented at the 33rd annual gala of the Associació Independent de Joves Empresaris de Catalunya (AIJEC), held at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona on 14 September 2026\. The event, which celebrates the achievements of entrepreneurs under 45, drew institutional figures including Josep Rull, President of the Parliament of Catalonia, who handed over the award. Argemí used his acceptance speech to champion homegrown innovation, stating: "Because from here it is also possible to create technology companies that lead the future with local talent."

## Other major awards and honourees

Aurax Technology received the award for Best Entrepreneurial Initiative for its development of MouthX, a hands-free digital accessibility device that allows users to control computers and mobile devices through tongue, jaw, and head movements. The Barcelona-based deep tech company was selected over finalists Mica Eco and Fetalife Technologies. The Career Trajectory Recognition was awarded to Jaume Alsina, co-founder and honorary president of food cooperative bonÀrea. His son Ramon Alsina accepted the award on his behalf, highlighting his father’s enduring passion for business and values of rigor, humility, and effort since founding the Guissona-based cooperative in 1959.

## Young innovators and social impact

The Future Enterprise Recognition went to FEEL-IT, a project developed by five secondary school students from Col·legi Jesús i Maria Sant Gervasi. The team received a €3,000 grant to further develop a smart bracelet that detects everyday sounds and translates them into light and vibration signals to assist elderly people with hearing loss. Arkeobots was named Social Entrepreneurship winner for its use of robotics to combat unwanted loneliness among older people. Founder Erwan Molina said: "We build tomorrow’s world today. Here in Catalonia, there are hundreds of thousands of people who are alone; the robot brings them companionship and presence."

## Leadership calls for trust and reform

AIJEC President Vicenç del Mar called on young entrepreneurs to "raise their hand" and take pride in their role, stating: "It’s not about taking anyone else’s place. It’s simply about starting to occupy our own." He defended entrepreneurs as essential contributors to society, saying: "We want to work, pay good salaries, attract talent, earn money, let’s not be ashamed, and pay taxes, but we want to know where those taxes go. We demand transparency." Antonio Magraner, President of the Spanish Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs (Ceaje), criticised excessive regulation, calling the business environment a "cocktail of fiscal hell, bureaucratic hurdles, and a runaway legal framework." He noted that Spain has nearly five times as many regulations as the United States, placing a heavy burden on small and medium enterprises. Josep Rull closed the ceremony by rejecting narratives of Catalan decline, quoting French writer Jean Cocteau: "They succeeded because they didn’t know it was impossible."
