## Top Names in Professional Triathlon Competing

Among the elite men registered is French triathlete Tom Richard, currently ranked 14th in the ITU rankings, who placed sixth in Alghero and eighth in London in 2026\. Britain’s James Teagle, who finished eighth at The Championship in Šamorín, will also compete, alongside Germany’s Hannes Butters, runner-up at the 2026 Ironman 70.3 Tallinn. In the women’s category, Caroline Pohle leads the field. Ranked 20th in the PTO rankings and winner of The Championship in Šamorín, she will face strong competition from Spain’s Sofia Aguayo Mauri, fifth-placed finisher in the 2025 Challenge Barcelona Triathlon, and Britain’s Eve Sealy, ranked 17th in the ITU rankings.

> The PRO Middle Distance event will offer €25,000 in prize money, shared among the top six finishers in each category.

## Race Route and Prize Incentives

The professional race begins with a swim at Mar Bella beach, followed by a cycling course passing through Barcelona, Montgat and Vilassar de Mar. The final running leg will follow the city’s seafront promenade. The event counts towards the PTO Silver ranking and serves as a qualifier for The Championship, Challenge Family’s international final held in Slovakia. A total of €25,000 in prize money will be distributed to the top six male and female finishers.
