## Repeated Issues Despite Past Interventions

This is not the first time the facility has come under scrutiny. In 2018, the Ombudsman intervened due to substandard changing rooms, and in 2023, 46 complaints were processed over maintenance and upkeep problems. ## Recent Turf Upgrades Completed

Despite the oversight concerns, renovation work on the adjacent football pitch at Teixonera was completed on 26 September 2026\. The project, part of a citywide sports facility improvement plan, involved replacing the artificial turf with a new elastic-base surface filled with silica sand, marking regulation lines, installing new goals and building a drainage channel. The work, carried out by Barcelona Municipal Infrastructure SA (BIMSA) under the Barcelona Institute of Sports (IBE), covered 5,680 m² and cost €650,000\. A separate €1.1 million upgrade was completed on the Foixarda rugby field in Sants-Montjuïc, including an expanded pitch and organic-filled turf compliant with EU microplastic regulations.
