## Project Presented at Ca n’Andalet

On Monday 2nd November 2026, the Barcelona Trades House Project was formally presented at Ca n’Andalet in the Horta-Guinardó district. The event marked the transition of the initiative from planning to reality, with activity set to begin in 2027\. The project, known as the Casa dels Oficis, is a joint effort led by the Council of Guilds and supported by Barcelona City Council through Barcelona Activa. It will establish a central space dedicated to trades, professional associations, and vocational training. Raquel Gil, Fifth Deputy Mayor and President of Barcelona Activa, welcomed attendees and celebrated the launch of what she described as a significant milestone for the city’s economic and professional development.

## Hub for Training and Professional Growth

The new headquarters at Ca n’Andalet will be managed directly by the guilds and will serve as a venue for workshops, training programmes, and professional accreditation initiatives. Its core mission is to strengthen the trades sector by promoting quality employment, digitalisation, talent attraction, and generational succession. Joan Guillén, President of the Council of Guilds, said the project would have a strong social impact by dignifying the city’s trades, which have been represented by guilds for over 600 years.

> It must be borne in mind that this project will have a strong impact on the city by focusing on dignifying and strengthening the Trades, represented by the Guilds for over 600 years.

Guillén added that the space would allow for greater specialisation, support for professionals and businesses, and renewed interest in vocational careers.

## City-Wide and Institutional Support

The initiative received unanimous support from all municipal political groups following debate in November 2025, with consensus that Barcelona should lead the project in partnership with the guilds. Over the past year, development has advanced in collaboration between the guilds and municipal teams. The building, a historic masia, already hosts some Barcelona Activa services and will expand its role as a socio-economic innovation hub. The Secretary of Labour of the Generalitat, Francisco Ramos, delivered closing remarks, underscoring regional backing for the project. Jordi Martí, Director of the Council of Guilds, presented the project’s forecasts alongside Guillén, outlining plans for joint management, shared workspaces, exhibition areas, and incubation support. The venue will also accommodate InnoBAdora+, a Barcelona Activa initiative fostering economic and social innovation, further integrating the trades into the city’s broader entrepreneurial ecosystem.
