Josep Maria Garcia Balda, currently Director General of Teaching Staff and Personnel in Public Centers, will lead the new body. In a message dated 20th October 2026 to territorial service directors, Balda announced the change, stating he had been directly assigned by Education Minister Esther Niubó to assume this role. He emphasized the goal of building stronger, more direct relationships with school leadership teams and enhancing their capacity to implement central policies.
