## Strategic Interchange Zones at Sagrera and Clot

The Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, in coordination with Barcelona City Council and interurban bus operators, has implemented a new bus stop layout along Avinguda Meridiana as of Monday 2nd November 2026\. The change is designed to enhance intermodality, streamline passenger transfers, and speed up service operations. Two strategic interchange areas have been established: one at Sagrera-Meridiana and another at El Clot. These hubs strengthen connections between interurban buses and the metro and Rodalies commuter rail networks, improving integration across public transport modes. The reorganisation coincides with the final stages of the city council’s urban redevelopment of Avinguda Meridiana.

## Improved Layout and Passenger Information

The new stop configurations were designed according to each location’s capacity and operational needs. At Sagrera-Meridiana, interurban lines are now grouped into four distinct boarding points for outbound journeys, aligning with major mobility corridors. This setup facilitates transfers to metro and Rodalies stations nearby and serves routes heading to Maresme, Vallès Occidental, Vallès Oriental, Osona, and other metropolitan municipalities, including night services. For inbound services to Barcelona, two dedicated alighting stops have been created: one for buses terminating at Sagrera and another for those continuing into the city centre. All stops feature shelters and dynamic information panels. The two main boarding zones include dual berths, allowing buses to queue and reducing waiting times. A double bus lane has also been introduced between Carrer Felip II and Carrer Garcilaso to improve traffic flow.

## Clot Hub Reorganised for Clarity and Efficiency

At El Clot, the new interchange zone consolidates lines serving towns such as Mollet del Vallès, Caldes de Montbui, Sant Feliu de Codines, and Santa Maria d'Oló. The updated layout simplifies transfers and improves stop visibility for passengers. Night bus lines N62, N64, and N65 retain their current stop at the intersection of Carrer Consell de Cent and Avinguda Meridiana. The inbound stop between Carrer València and Carrer Mallorca remains in place, now also functioning as a designated drop-off point for additional services. The alighting stop at Fabra i Puig, opposite the bus station pedestrian crossing, has been formalised for buses entering Barcelona via Meridiana and continuing to Sagrera or the city centre.

## What It Means for Commuters

Passengers using interurban buses along Meridiana should consult updated stop maps to locate their services. The changes aim to reduce congestion, clarify routes, and shorten transfer times. Real-time information displays and clear signage will help guide travellers through the new layout.
