A man has died after a wall collapsed at a campsite in Tordera, in the Maresme area of Barcelona province, during a severe rainstorm that has brought flooding and disruption since Saturday afternoon.

The Generalitat has described the storm as a *minihuracán*, literally “mini-hurricane”, to refer to the intense [torrential rain](https://barna.news/torrential-rain-continues-in-north-east/) and flooding. For residents in northern Barcelona province, the immediate concern remains hazardous conditions as the storm moves towards Girona.
