## Body Found After Forced Entry

On Wednesday 28 October 2026, Mossos d'Esquadra and Barcelona Firefighters responded to a report from a person who said they could not contact a woman believed to be inside her home in the Nou Barris district. The emergency services forced entry to the flat and discovered the woman's body. The victim, aged 33, was found with multiple wounds to her body and extremities. Forensic police began processing the scene at the residence near Can Dragó park, which she shared with her partner.

## Suspect Surrenders in Madrid

Later that morning, the woman's partner, a man around 30 years old, voluntarily surrendered to the Madrid Municipal Police. He confessed to being responsible for her death, according to judicial sources. The confession prompted immediate coordination between Catalan and national law enforcement.

> The magistrate of Barcelona's Plaza 30 has recused herself so that the investigation into this misogynistic murder can be led by Plaza 4 of the Barcelona Court for Domestic Violence.

There are no prior judicial records between the suspect and the victim, the TSJC confirmed. The case is now under seal as the Mossos investigate the circumstances of the killing, which may have occurred several days before the body was found.

## Investigation Into Fifth Femicide of 2026

This incident marks the fifth recorded femicide in Catalonia this year. The last such case in Barcelona occurred on 28th July 2026, when a 34-year-old Brazilian woman was stabbed to death by her partner in their home on Carrer Andrade in front of their two children, aged 4 and 8\. That suspect fled but later surrendered to the Mossos. Domestic violence services in Catalonia remain on alert, with the Línia Xarxa support service continuing to provide assistance to those at risk. The crime scene in Nou Barris remains closed off as forensic analysis continues.
