L'Hospitalet City Council has evicted a fishmonger from interior stalls 182, 183 and 184 at Mercat de Collblanc after determining that the space was being used without the required administrative authorisation.

The council said municipal services and the L'Hospitalet Urban Guard's Coexistence and Civility Unit carried out the action. For shoppers and neighbouring traders at the market, the three stalls have now been vacated.

> The council described the case as an “illegal occupation” that has been remedied by municipal services and the Urban Guard unit.

## An earlier eviction date was delayed by an appeal

The dispute concerned a fishmonger whose use of commercial space at the market had previously been challenged by other traders. In June, El Periódico reported that the council had dismissed an appeal and a request to suspend the recovery procedure submitted by the people using the premises.

An earlier date for recovering the stall had been set for 19 May. That action was delayed after workers at Peixateria Mary submitted an appeal shortly before the planned eviction, according to the newspaper.

The council's latest action applies to:

- Interior stall 182
- Interior stall 183
- Interior stall 184

Visitors seeking information on businesses operating at the market can consult the [Mercat de Collblanc directory](https://mercatdecollblanc.com/?ref=barna.news). The market is in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and its building, constructed in 1932, is listed as a local cultural asset.
