# L'Hospitalet fire leaves building uninhabitable

A fire in a ground-floor home on Estudi Street, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat's Collblanc neighbourhood, left the building uninhabitable on Monday 14 September after flames affected its pipes and utility supplies. For residents of the building, this meant they could not remain in the property while municipal services assessed rehousing needs and damage.

According to ACN, the Generalitat Fire Department received the alert at about 10:30\. Preliminary reports cited by local media indicated that a charging electric scooter battery may have been the source of the fire.

## Two people taken to hospital with burns

Six Generalitat Fire Department units attended the scene to extinguish the flames. The Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM), Catalonia's public emergency medical service, sent seven units.

- Two people with burns were taken to Bellvitge University Hospital and Vall d'Hebron Hospital.
- ACN described the two burn casualties as less seriously injured.
- ACN reported three people injured overall, while other people received assessment for smoke inhalation at the scene.

The Fire Department said the fire affected the building's pipes and utility supplies, leaving it uninhabitable.

## Social services assess rehousing needs

L'Hospitalet Municipal Social Services attended to support affected people, assess possible rehousing and evaluate the property's condition. The Guàrdia Urbana, L'Hospitalet's municipal police force, also sent patrols to assist emergency crews.

According to reports from the scene, municipal motorcycle officers regulated traffic on surrounding streets to keep access clear for emergency vehicles.
