Illa described it as an option not currently offered by another Spanish autonomous community. - It is intended for people aged over 40 with stable incomes who face difficulties obtaining a mortgage. - The Generalitat would take a 50% ownership stake in the home. - The resident would be able to occupy the property for between 40 and 50 years. The measure was announced as a future scheme, rather than an open application process. --- ## €25 million fund for vulnerable households facing eviction Illa also said the Generalitat will create a housing emergency fund with an initial allocation of €25 million. It will be used to buy homes occupied by vulnerable people threatened with eviction when no other remedy is available, with the amount potentially increased later. > “We are creating a new housing emergency fund to help people who are threatened with eviction because of vulnerability. We will initially endow this fund with €25 million, which can be increased.” The president also announced an expansion of Emancipation loans, public financial support for 18 to 40-year-olds buying their first home.
