From now until the end of 2026, the Department of Health will phase out the current username and password system in favour of idCAT Mòbil, a digital identification method linked to a mobile phone number. This change means users will no longer need to remember login details. Instead, they will verify their identity using their ID document and a one-time code sent to their registered mobile phone. The move aims to simplify access while strengthening digital security for public health services. --- ## How to Register for idCAT Mòbil Residents aged 16 and over can register for idCAT Mòbil online or in person. Online registration options include using a DNI or TIE (foreigner identity card) with a health card, a selfie or video identification, or a digital certificate. The system guides users to the method that suits their situation. Alternatively, people can visit a citizen service office or an idCAT Mòbil registration centre in person. They must bring their ID document and provide the mobile number they wish to link to the service. > Once registered, users can access their health records and other government services without passwords, using only their mobile for verification. ## One Identity for Multiple Public Services Although idCAT Mòbil is being introduced as the main access route to La Meva Salut, it functions across many digital services provided by Catalan public administrations. Once activated, it can be used for various official procedures that accept the system, eliminating the need for multiple login credentials. The service is free, does not expire, and requires no app installation. For higher-security processes, idCAT Mòbil+ offers enhanced verification without additional software or digital certificates. --- ## Transition Period Until Early 2027 Existing users can continue logging in with passwords until early 2027\. However, during the final quarter of 2026, no new passwords will be created, and lost or expired passwords cannot be reset. The Generalitat will provide support resources to help users switch to the new system.
